Keren was so content

Although Keren had all the complications associated with Trisomy 18, she was a very content wee baby. She would lie in her wee cot, and when she wasn’t sleeping, she would be looking all around, listening to her wee musical, soft toys, or to us talking to her.

She enjoyed stretching her wee arms up, and she always seemed comfortable, and not in pain.

This was very reassuring to Glenn and I, and indeed to all those that loved her, because many did.

    she is such a wee dote! i remember the 1st time i seen her. she was the double of the other two! i know it may be hard to write about the past but i do enjoy readin about Keren!

    hi there,

    i lost my wee baby girl Aeryn on 4th jan 2009 to trisomy 18.she only lived 15 mins.

    Oh Joanne…that must be so difficult.
    Did you have any warning that there was anything unusual, before her birth?

    hi again,
    we went for our 20week scan and they spotted a problem with her outflows in her heart. we were referred to the royal and they confirmed she had a congential heart defect and would require major heart surgery within first week of life. i had regular check ups and they discovered i had alot of amniotic fluid-sometimes a sign of other problems.i had to have a amnio reduction where they also sent away a sample of the fluid to get tested for trisomys etc. we were then told she had trisomy 18 and would not live very long, and they would not be performing any heart surgery. i carried her to 38 weeks.

    We didn’t have any suspicions at all, that there was anything unusual, well, we knew that the scans showed that Keren was smaller than her dates indicated, but I just thought that meant she was just a small baby.
    Little did we know.
    It is impossible to understand, and difficult to come to terms with something like this, but the conviction that God is in control of all things, has been a great comfort to us. We really hope you know something of the comfort God can be, when He is in your life.
