Giants Causeway to Ballintoy

Posted by Glenn

Some friends accompanied us on this coastal walk, from the picturesque Giants Causeway to Ballintoy harbour. The weather was very changeable, as usual there were times when I had to keep the camera in my rucksack, to keep it dry! It was also very windy on some of the headlands, making it necessary for us to leave the clifftop path, and move inland for safety. At least four hats were lost!

This was a great first outing for my new boots!

As you can see below, the sea was impressive!

This was a little Stonechat which seemed quite unafraid of us.

This walk was onĀ  the 29th December 2007

We had a great walk today (5th Jan 08) in the Antrim Hills, complete with snow, wind and rain….photos to follow soon!

Yes Joanna, it got quite hair-raising for a time, on one of the cliffs. It was windier than I have ever experienced (with my feet on the ground)…there was really no room for error.

Thankfully everyone finished the walk safely…it was a timely reminder, never to underestimate the power of the wind, and never to take unnecessary chances.

It was also a reminder how fragile a hold we have on our lives…and how we all need to be certain where we stand with God.

Of course, between the showers, it was a great day, very enjoyable, and the wonder of creation was very evident all around.

Glenn, all these walks……I would LOVE to be joining you! It would be nice if I could go on the odd one or two…

Just back from Italy and I refused to use public transport if it could at all be avoided…ended up walking around 50 miles all in…great!

Taleen, you are welcome to come on any of our walks!
We have an all-day one on Saturday coming, God willing, and if you are free, I can text you with details!

I will keep you informed of walks in advance if you like?

Yea, please do. I may not always be able to come but it would be worth it if there were one or two I could join you on. Where is the walk this Saturday?

  8. Glenn on January 29th, 2008 4:47 pm

It would be worth it surely!

I am not absolutely sure of the location on Saturday (2nd Feb), but I am fairly sure it is somewhere in the Antrim hills….maybe Orra Mountain and surroundings?

I will let you know when I get more info.

Got something to say?
